Miracle Monday

Who ever said Miracles don't happen never lived in New Orleans....Its ESPN and Monday Night Football, The entire world is watching as the N.O. Saints take on the Atlanta Falcons....In the Superdome...In New Orleans...To say it was emotional is putting it mildly...The city was hyped, the players were hyped, the News media was hyped. It was the first time the Saints have played in the Dome or even IN New Orleans in over a year, a lot was riding on this game it was a new beginning...The last images of the Superdome was of death, despair abandonment...But on On Miracle Monday..After a 180 million dollar overhaul the Dome was ready to show herself off to the world....New seats, lighting, scoreboards etc...She is beautiful but can she make the sadness fade away...
YES, SHE CAN! It was emotional from the time the Dome was re-introduced till the last minute of the game. There was tears of relief, joy and ultimately happiness.....The Saints played their hearts out for the city of New Orleans..They had stood behind this team again and again over the years but this was different -one word-Katrina.By the time the game started at 7:45pm cst the Saints were a sellout for the rest of the season...Yep..NO TICKETS LEFT...All blackouts will be lifted...And the Saints were now "American's" Team....
The Saints plowed all over their rival team from Atlanta...We never if ever beat this team on a good day..But the Gods were smiling down on us and Miracle Monday would be different.
The New Orleans Saints beat Atlanta,23-3, and the city of New Orleans has a sliver of hope for tomorrow,if we can beat Atlanta we can beat anything...
I was never a Saints fan but last night they made me a Believer...I can't wait till Sunday's game and watch my home team play...
Welcome Home Boys! We missed you!

Bless You Boys

The Boys are back home but its not the Boys in Blue but the Boys in Black & Gold... Our own New Orleans Saints..To the world media frenzy its like a Super Bowl~ to us here in New Orleans it means the long road home is getting better...
The Super Dome has been revamped and those horrible images from a year ago just a faded memory (or not)... We're taking on a long rival- Atlanta Falcons....But the buzz around town is that of admiration from the Falcons...I think they want to win BUT deep inside would like The Saints to win for no other reason than the moral booster it would give this damsel in distress..Well the city is full of tourist and LOCALS and the whole world is watching.
Let just hope we can pull this one off w/out making fools of ourselves...
"Bless YOU BOYS"!!!! And Welcome HOME

Revenge Might Just be Sweet

...First off I just "LOVE" Maxine...
she says what everyone else just thinks....
Lately I've been feeling a lil
"taken for granted".
I do know how hard Doc works and what long days he has..And I wouldn't say I'm a "Kept" woman ....(but MJ's dx and Doc's need for me to be available for MJ might make me a Semi-Kept woman.) I have some part-time jobs,so I'm a lil freer than most woman w/ REAL JOBS..Does that mean that I get to play the "tooth fairy, the lawn fairy, the garbage fairy, the pet fairy...etc, etc, etc"....You get the picture.
So now I've had enough w/ the Mt.Dew cans in the yard for TWO DAYS.....Revenge might be sweet but I have to make it subtle...hmmm, I gotta think about this......

Where were You when the world stopped turning

5:35 PM, Monday, September 11, 2006 ..

It has been 5 yrs since life changed..
When life became totally different for every American...When life was defined by a single act of terrorism that changed the course of history...When homeland security is the one major focus....
Like generations before me there is always that ONE instance that sticks out for a generation...
For my grandmother it was Pearl Harbor, my mom the assaination Of JFK..for me it was the OKC bombing..for MJ it is 9/11...Actually for all of us..not just Americans but for every living and breathing human, 9/11/01 is the definitive of time...

"Before 9/11 and After 9/11"

I really can't remember before 9/11/01 almost like I really can't seem to remember my New Orleans before Katrina '05, or my life before the birth of my son in '95...everything seems to be defined by Sept 2001....
The pain is still here deep in my heart. The pain for New York, my country, the first responders, & for myself was and still is forever present. I remember watching the tv and wondering what the hell is going on. A plane hit the Twin Towers...OMG how awful. By the time I got home from taking MJ to school, it looked like the world was coming to an end. I called my Mom, "What the hell is going on?"..She was crying and watching the samething I was..We had no idea!~The world wasn't coming to an end but terrorist were trying to take out our eastern seaboard, our military our goverment and using VERY innocent lives...I rushed to MJ's school and to get him. I brought him home to be safely w/ me. I stayed glued to the tv for hr.s. "What was happening and why?" As the events unfolded thru the day, 4 plans would come out of the sky. 2 in the WTC, 1 in the Pentagon, and 1 in a field in Pa. I cried, and Cried and CRIED....the pain was so overwhelming, who could be so krewl? and why?
The pain of watching this go on day after day for what seemed weeks and probably was, the pain was so overpowering the tears never seemed to stop flowing and the tv never stopped showing the images. The whole world was watching in horror as we grieved our loved ones, our city of New York, & our country. And they inturn grieved along w/ us... OMG how will be get thru this ~ the pain~ the sorrow~ the lost lives..Its a nightmare.Oh God help us all...
That was 5 yrs ago. Time has passed and people have moved on, the world has moved on, but the pain I felt~ we all felt that day, is still with me(us).
We can "NEVER FORGET" we "MUST NEVER FORGET" those innocent lives lost and the Hero's that 9/11 made out of so many alive and departed...

"Labor" Day weekend

This is suppose to be a "labor-less" weekend , Am I correct?
Isn't that what Labor Day was for...To relax, reflex and enjoy the last lazy days of summer?
Well.... Then can someone PLEASE explain to me WHY I'm working my keester off w/ Doc....This is probably his last weekend free for a long time...[He'll be starting the Christmas Lights for Copeland (another story, another time)] so he's trying to get tons of yard stuff done....OKAY, but couldn't he do that on his own...NAh, now why shouldn't both of us LABOR...I thought I did enough of that for 15 hrs 11 yrs ago, but it was just the beginning.
Why did I get swimmers ear? (though we don't have a pool). I could have been in Texas kicked back, chilled and watching Matthew drive his Papa & Nana crazy...ahh the life...Guess I'll just have to wait til next year...

In The Beginning

This is my very first blog..
Its mostly about just my life w/ my wonderful child and husband and the way life has changed since those "7 Days in August/Sept." that changed the way we all live in southeast La...Yep I'm talking about Katrina..
BUT it's not all about Katrina OR the mess.
Its about who I am, where I've been and hopefully where I'm going...And maybe I will get something out of this. LIKE CHEAP THERAPY....
its Labor Day weekend and I'm Laboring in my Favorite place HOME!
This is MY SPACE, FOR ME AND NO ONE ELSE!
